Chinese ZTE Selected by Polish Polkomtel for CDMA Network Upgrade

ZTE announced on September 14, 2010 that the company has signed a contract with Polish operator Polkomtel to upgrade its existing network infrastructure, according to a ZTE press release. As per the agreement, ZTE is expected to exclusively provide a complete series of CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) network equipment and ZTE's GoTa PTT (Push-to-Talk) service. The equipment to be supplied by ZTE includes base stations, controllers, switching nodes, service platforms, and a GoTa digital trunking system. It is reported that financial and schedule details are yet to be announced.

Poland has a population of over 38 million, and Polkomtel is a major operator in the country, with a subscriber base of 14 million, according to the ZTE press release again.
